Japanese Woodblock Prints 2025 Wall Calendar
Traditionally, Japanese art had been created for the ruling classes. The woodblock prints of the Edo period emerged as a new kind of art that appealed to the common people, and were mass-produced for commercial consumption. Traditional art was mostly inspired by nature and imbued with spirituality. The woodblocks tended to be entertaining, dealing with the many and varied aspects of human life as reflected in the experiences of the entertainers of the floating world.
