Due to the ongoing diesel fuel price increase, our freight carriers have increased their fuel surcharges dramatically over the recent weeks. We have been absorbing these increases for the past few months, but they have now reached a level where we are no longer able to continue doing so on an ongoing basis.
As a result, shipping charges will unfortunately increase. We’ve kept the adjustment as modest as we can.
How to keep your freight costs down
Freight is charged per consignment, so the most effective way to offset the increase is to place larger orders less frequently. Consolidating what would have been two or three smaller orders into a single shipment spreads the cost across more stock and works out considerably cheaper per item. This applies especially to more regional areas than metro.
